Manchester United Opinion: United must swap Pogba for Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is a Welsh speed demon, who currently plies his trade for Real Madrid in the La Liga after making a big move switch from the English top-flight back in 2013.

He was bought by Madrid in the hope of partnering former winger Cristiano Ronaldo but till date, he is yet to completely convince with his quality.

Although his spell in Spain certainly hasn’t been eventful, his contributions to the side can’t be ignored as he has scored some crucial goals for the Los Blancos. However, he is yet to nail down a starting role at Santiago Bernabeu.

If another club does come calling for the services of the 29-year-old, he shouldn’t hesitate for a second before choosing to leave Madrid as his quality is certainly being wasted in Spain.

Before making the switch to Madrid in 2013, he played 203 times for Tottenham Hotspur as either a winger or as full-back. He scored 56 goals during his time in North London and a return to England could be best suited to the player’s skill-set.

A report arising from Spanish news outlet AS is claiming that Real Madrid are keen on signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United with a view of sending Welshman Gareth Bale the other way as a part of the deal. 

Manchester United should be revelling in the opportunity to bring the Welsh speedster to Old Trafford as he has the potential and ability to make a name for himself in the Premier League history books yet again. 

While losing Pogba will certainly be a fairly big hit to United, their abundance of midfielders should soften the blow and the acquisition of a pacy winger like Bale will certainly add a new dimension to this young United front-line. 

His movement down the flanks will be crucial as his versatility allows for him to be utilised down either side. With Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford being overused at Old Trafford, this move makes a large amount of sense for the Manchester side.

Depending on whether or not Pogba is attracted by the possibility of moving to Real, this move could take shape. While United might feel like they’re losing one of their best players, they should be excited as Bale has the potential to raise the United side to the next level.
