Caroline Garcia

Caroline Garcia

The experienced Frenchwoman had a great latter half of the season in 2022 and she also won the prestigious WTA Finals among other titles.

She began the season with wins against Petra Martic and Nadia Podoroska in the United Cup. At the Adelaide International 2, she received a first-round bye before defeating Katerina Siniakova in the round of 16. She lost to Belinda Bencic in the quarterfinals. At the Australian Open, Garcia was expected to be one of the favorites to go the distance. However, she couldn’t progress beyond the fourth round as her run ended with a loss to Magda Linette.

At the Hobart International, Martincova defeated Emerson Jones and Kaja Juvan to progress to the main draw. Her run ended with a loss to Laura Siegemund, once again after winning the first set. In the Australian Open, she lost to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka in the first round.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands tantalizingly at 3-2 in favor of Caroline Garcia. It was Martincova who emerged victorious in their most recent meeting in Istanbul in 2020.

Prediction: Caroline Garcia to win in straight sets.
