Predicted Leicester City XI to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Leicester City suffered a 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur at the home in the Premier League last week but the Foxes will have a golden chance to get back to winning ways when they make the trip to Selhurst Park to face a struggling Crystal Palace unit on Saturday.

Claude Puel’s men sit 9th in the standings with 22 points from 16 games and the Foxes will be the outright favourites to claim all three points.

Roy Hodgson’s men went down 3-2 against West Ham in their previous outing despite taking the lead and the Eagles will face a tough test this weekend as they look to better their miserable home record at Selhurst Park.

Team News

Claude Puel doesn’t have too many injuries to contend with for the weekend. Jamie Vardy is still struggling with his groin injury and is doubtful to play a part against Palace while Matthew James is yet to regain match fitness following his recovery from a long-term injury. Daniel Amartey is ruled out with a long-term ankle injury while Harry Maguire might be pushing for a return.

Predicted XI

1. Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Danish veteran shot-stopper was hardly at fault for either of the goals in the last game and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Ricardo Pereira (RB)

He has shown a marked improvement in his defensive awareness in recent weeks and should start this weekend.

3. Wes Morgan (CB)

The veteran made some impressive retrieves against Spurs and put in a solid shift at the heart of the defence.

4. Jonny Evans (CB)

The former Manchester United man has looked solid at the back and should continue if Maguire doesn’t make it to the XI.

5. Ben Chilwell (LB)

The youngster has been one of the standout performers for the Foxes this season, contributing equally to defence and attack.

6. Vicente Iborra (CM)

The former Sevilla man proved his worth with some accurate long passes against Spurs and Puel should hand him another start.

7. Wilfried Ndidi (LCM)

He hasn’t been particularly impressive this season and Leicester will need a lot more from him in the coming games.

8. Nampalys Mendy (RCM)

The Frenchman’s work-rate and tenacity are valuable assets to the Foxes’ midfield.

9. Demarai Gray (RW)

The youngster has always been a lively presence in the final third, troubling the opposition with his pace and guile.

10. James Maddison (LW)

Leicester will bank on him to light up the scene with his creative passing at the weekend.

11. Kelechi Iheanacho (ST)

The Nigerian put in the hard yards against Spurs without much to show for his efforts and he will continue if Vardy doesn’t make it to the starting XI.
