John Konchar Career
Konchar started playing basketball during his high school days. He represented his high school team, West Chicago High School. He was successful throughout his high school career, in his junior year he averaged 19.7 points with 8.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists. In a match against St. Charles North High School, Konchar scored a record-breaking 45 points that stunned the basketball community.
On seeing his ability, Purdue University Fort Wayne offered him a scholarship. Konchar accepted it and was eager to play for the Waynes. He debuted in the 2019 Summit League Tournament against South Dakota and scored 16 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. His form continued to the senior season as he averaged 19.5 points with 8.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists. At the end of his college career, he recorded a massive 2,065 career points and achieved a record.
With lots of expectations, Konchar entered the 2019 NBA draft but was left undrafted by the teams. After a day, the Grizzlies came forward and signed a two-way contract with Konchar. His NBA debut came up against the Dallas Mavericks on November 9, 2019. On seeing his performance, the Grizzlies promoted his contract to a multi-year contract.
