Jay Lethal signs for AEW, set to make debut on Wednesday

Former Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal has signed with AEW and is making his debut on Wednesday.

Lethal has spent nearly the entirety of his career in TNA and, most recently, Ring of Honor, where he was a two time world champion. However, Ring of Honor, had previously announced it would not be renewing its roster contracts at the end of the year.

And keeping that factor in mind Lethal has decided to join AEW. And on Saturday, in a surprise just before the main event title match – Tony Schiavone announced he would be introducing someone who has joined AEW.

And that man was Lethal:

During his interview with Schiavone, Lethal issued a challenge to AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. Guevara would then confront Lethal and accept his challenge. This title match will take place this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.

Lethal also spoke about what brought him to AEW as well as how it happened while Ring Of Honor faces an uncertain future. He said:

“The easy answer is I’m a professional wrestler, and this is the fastest rising, hottest promotion in the frickin’ world, so it was no contest. It was a very easy decision for any professional wrestler, in my opinion.”

“This place is amazing. AEW is on fire and I’m so happy to be here, and I’m more excited that they are willing to have me, that’s even more exciting in my head.”
