Jade Cargill could be the next AEW star to join the WWE

Jade Cargill could be the next AEW star joining WWE, as per reports from Fightful Wrestling. Cargill, who is the former TBS Champion, made a huge splash once she made her professional wrestling debut with AEW in 2020.

However, Sean Ross Sapp claims that Jade Cargill is going to WWE with sources within WWE and AEW both believing this to be true.

The 31-year-old Cargill was almost unbeatable in AEW and was pushed quite a bit. She only lost her title to Kris Statlander after holding the belt for 508 days, and that included a 60-match undefeated streak in May 2023.

She took some time off and returned to AEW on September 9, when she attacked Statlander, but it seems her time in AEW is almost done.

However, she has been named to take on Statlander on the next Rampage, and it will be interesting to see what happens in this fight.

Fightful will provide more details about the possible move soon.

Jade Cargill tried out for WWE previously

Moving to WWE could be a huge move for Cargill but she was one of the biggest female names in AEW.

This would be a blow to Tony Khan’s promotion, especially after they pushed her for so long. However, Cargill did attend a WWE tryout before she joined AEW and then started working at AR Fox’s WWA4 Academy.

She has called Mark Henry her “mentor”, and was coached by the Sonjay Dutt, QT Marshall, Dustin Rhodes and even Bryan Danielson.

She was trained Danielson at the behest of Khan. Danielson spoke about training Cargill and had glowing praise for her (h/t Inside Ropes):

“In my short time working with [Jade], she works very hard. She…can I say that I’m jealous? [Laughs]. In the sense that, she’s been wrestling a little over ten months, maybe now 11 months, and she comes out with more presence and looks like more of a star than I have ever looked in my entire career.”

“When I work with her too, she’s so athletic and strong and when it’s time to work, she works. I’ve been really impressed by her in general and her attitude. It’s easy to come in and if you get a big push, to get a big head, and she’s not like that at all. I’ve been impressed by that.”

It will be interesting to see how she lines up in WWE. Vince McMahon’s promotion does have quite a talented female roster, and we could see some interesting clashes against Asuka or Becky Lynch.

Rhea Ripley or Charlotte Flair taking on Cargill could be huge as well. However, Cargill could also start off her career on NXT and then move up to the main roster after spending some time on the Black and Gold brand.
