Barbora Krejcikova

The former world No. 2 has been in fine form this season. She did not have a great start as she crashed out in the second round of the Adelaide International 2. Krejcikova managed to reach the fourth round in the Australian Open and won the doubles event alongside Katerina Siniakova. The 27-year-old couldn’t get past the second round in Abu Dhabi and the first round in Qatar.

Krejcikova’s biggest triumph of the season in singles competitions came in the Dubai Tennis Championships. She won the final with victories against the top 3 ranked players in the world – Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Iga Swiatek. This was the second time she defeated Swiatek in a final. With this win, Krejcikova picked up her first WTA 1000 singles title of her career.

Dayana Yastremska

The Ukrainian youngster hasn’t had a notable result this year. She lost in the first round of qualifying at the Adelaide International 1. In the Australian Open, Yastremska couldn’t go beyond the first round. Yastremska’s first win of the season came in the first round of the Thailand Open when he defeated Moyuka Uchijima. She lost in the following round to Tatjana Maria. In Abu Dhabi, she progressed to the main draw from the qualifiers and lost to Jil Teichmann in the round of 32.
