The first 7-star Tera Raid event of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was introduced back in December. It gave players access to catch Level 100 Charizard upon completing the main story.

The event was held at the end of January Snr during the event players had the chance to catch a Level 100 Greninja with the Mightiest Mark. Fans found it difficult to defeat the powerful’ mon and it is considered one of the most difficult raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet till now.

Now catching this Poison Tera-type Pokémon Greninja could also be equally difficult as mentioned above. It has diverse movements that counter ground & Psychic types easily. Players will be put to a test with this challenging Pokémon. But don’t worry we have got you covered.

Greninja Moveset

Greninja is a base dual type of water and dark. It is a Poison Tera type and is weak and to vulnerable to ground and Psychic moves. However, its moveset makes even the Ground and Psychic-type Pokemon weak. Thus players will have to seek other options.

Let’s break down Greninj’s movesets. It has six moves(two flex, four offensive). It will use these attacks during the raid battle. Here is a list of all the movesets of Greninja.

Main Moveset

  • Gunk Shot
  • Hydro Beam
  • Ice Beam
  • Night Slash

Flex Moves

  • Double Team
  • Toxic Spikes

Greninja rapidly uses Double Team and Toxic spikes at the beginning of the game. The Tera-type Pokémon won’t use this attack gain in the game. Toxic spikes poison a Pokémon after it gets knocked out and you will re-enter the game if this happens.

Clodsire Moveset

The Clodshire is a must-have in Greninjq Tera raids as it is very helpful in reducing Greninja’s accuracy and special defenses. It is immune to water as it has the ability to absorb water. Earth power can also be used to deal with the damage.

Stored Power Slowbro Moveset

It is a good option against Greninja as it has proved to be effective in Cinderace Tera Raids previously. This requires a bit of luck even though it was great for Cindrace. Stored Power Slowbro goes well with Clodsire and Quagsire. You can use Iron Defense initially for the first three turns, followed by Nasty Plot for the next three turns. After you reach your potential you can use Stored Power at the right time.

Lucario Moveset

Lucario build is the most impactful offensive moveset but it requires a specific type of setup to reach its maximum potential. You can use Nasty Plot up front to boost their Special Attack.

It would be a good idea to utilize Metal Sound a few times to make Greninja more vulnerable if no one else is using it or another Special Defense-reducing move. Then, Psychic can reduce Greninja’s health while Leftovers heal you after each turn. Additionally, Calm Mind can be utilized to lessen some of the potential harm.

  • Nasty Plot – Learned via TM
  • Metal Sound – Learned at level 28
  • Psychic – Learned via TM
  • Calm Mind – Learned at level 24

Toxicroak Moveset

Toxicraok is a powerful Pokémon that uses its Dry Skin ability to defend the Water damage. Use Swords Dance three times to maximize your attack and then use Earthquake to give a massive attack. Acid Soary can also be used to lower Greninja’s special defense.
