WB has finally announced the official release date for Gotham Knight. Find out the release date, gameplay details, and more!
Gotham Knights, the open-world, Bat-family action-RPG from WB Games Montreal. Originally scheduled for release in August 2020, the game was postponed to an unannounced date in 2022 early last year, with the creators citing a need for “additional time to offer the best possible experience for players.”
Gotham Knights allows players to suit up as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood (alone or with a friend) and try to restore order to Gotham City after Batman’s death.
Gotham Knight Release Date
WB Games Montréal has finally announced the release date for its upcoming Bat-family title, Gotham Knights, after a year of waiting. On October 25, 2022, the game will be released, marking the ninth anniversary of their first major title, Batman: Arkham Origins.
The announcement comes after a series of leaks earlier this week suggested an April release date. According to reports, a playtest version of the game was also released on Steam. According to sources, one individual had already begun playing it before it was taken down. The download size was roughly 82.41GB, which is similar to all recently released games.
Gotham Knight Story
You take control of the Bat-family — Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and the Red Hood – to try to restore order in the chaos-ridden streets overrun by violent criminals, sometime after Bruce Wayne’s death. The evil Court of Owls, an ancient crime organization lurking in the shadows and dispatching ferocious Talons to sabotage your activities, is this story’s main antagonist.
Gotham Knights Gameplay
Gotham Knights will be treated in the same way that an RPG (role-playing game) would be treated, with a leveling and progression system. The grappling hook and stealth mechanics are still present, and the game now includes a partner.
Through online co-op, players can team up with another Bat-family member to unleash dual takedowns on unsuspecting opponents. You can also play in solo mode, although you’ll be joined by an AI-controlled teammate.
Gotham Knights is one of several major DC games in the works, though it looks like it will be the only one published in 2022. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still scheduled for a 2022 release by Rocksteady, best known for the Arkham series of Batman games, but a recent source claims that the game would be delayed until 2023. Monolith Productions, the studio behind Shadow of Mordor, has also begun production on a Wonder Woman game that will include its lauded Nemesis system, but nothing more is known about the game.
Gotham Knights will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One on October 25th.
