Why Joao Felix moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers is a good move for everyone
The Mirror has reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers have entered the race for Benfica starlet Joao Felix, with the 19-year-old linked with moves to every big club. Since his debut, few players have impressed as much as the Portuguese midfielder, with the likes of Barcelona (h/t Football Espana), Real Madrid, Manchester United (h/t ESPN), Chelsea (h/t Sun) and many others interested in a move. But now with Wolves interested, it looks like Nuno Espirito Santo’s side could win the race.
The Molineux Stadium-based side have a wide array of Portuguese stars in their team with the likes of Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio, Ruben Vinagre, Joao Moutinho and so many others making a mark at Wolves. This will help Joao Felix’s adjustment to the Premier League.
However, while his burgeoning talent will need time to adjust to the high-octane and physical style of football that the Premier League has become known for, Felix would, without a doubt make the right move by joining Wolves. Not only will his sheer talent flourish under Nuno Santo but the 19-year-old midfielder’s defensive work rate will help him make the transition easier.
For Wolves, the move would help them achieve Europa League glory next season if they do qualify for the tournament, something that looks possible given their current state.
At the moment, they sit seventh in the Premier League table, one point ahead of eighth-place Watford and are a team in form. They’ve managed to win four out their last five games in all competitions, which includes wins over both Everton and West Ham.
Adding Felix to their team will maximise their attacking chances, and given the 19-year-old Benfica starlet’s versatility, he should fit right in. The Portuguese midfielder can play as either a number 10, left-winger or even as a second striker, which means that Joao Felix could play anywhere in a 3-4-3 setup.

However, what could stop the move from happening is the fact that the player’s release clause is £105 million. But if Wolves can somehow manage to negotiate a deal, as they did for Ruben Neves and Moutinho, then it would represent an absolute coup for the Premier League side.
