Tennis fans were quick to send their well-wishes to Rafael Nadal, who pulled out of the Wimbledon semifinal vs Nick Kyrgios.

Earlier on Thursday, Rafael Nadal announced his decision to pull out of his clash against Nick Kyrgios in the Wimbledon semifinals due to an abdominal injury. With his withdrawal, the Spaniard’s hope of completing a calendar Grand Slam has also been crushed. But ardent Nadal fans were quick to send in their well-wishes to the 22-time Grand Slam winner.

Reports confirmed that Nadal suffered a torn abdominal muscle during his quarter-final match against Taylor Fritz but still battled on to beat his opponent and make it to the semifinal of Wimbledon 2022. He was set to face Australian Nick Kyrgios on Friday but now has pulled out of the tournament due to his injury. The 36-year-old had won the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year and was on course to potentially win his third Grand Slam of 2022 before his unfortunate injury.

On Twitter, one wrote, ‘Get well soon, King! We hope you recover well and get back on the court when you get better’ while another added, ‘This is simply heartbreaking news. I really wanted Nadal to play against Kyrgios but more than that I hope he is not in any pain.’ A third commented, ‘Sad to see a warrior like Nadal pulling out of such a grand tournament at such a vital stage as well, sending him my best wishes to make a better recovery.’
