Former racer Jacques Villeneuve has made an interesting remark on Lewis Hamilton’s F1 return

Ever since the ending of 2021 F1 season, Lewis Hamilton has left everyone wondering about his future in Formula One. The Brit has failed to clarify anything related to his future in the sport and many believe that we might have seen the end of Hamilton in F1. Talking about the same, former racing driver Jacques Villeneuve has commented on the situation.

The Canadian has compared Hamilton to Nico Rosberg and believes it is hard to know what the current situation with the Brit is. He said:

“No one expected Rosberg to retire. He woke up one morning and told everyone he had no passion for racing anymore. It doesn’t look like that for Lewis, but who knows? It’s hard to know what’s going on in people’s minds.”

Who will be the most likely replacement for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes?

While Hamilton’s future in F1 remains doubtful, people have already started to speculate a possible replacement for him at Mercedes. Former F1 racer Ralf Schumacher has named Sebastian Vettel as a possible replacement for the seven-time world champion.

During a recent interview, Schumacher claimed that Vettel will be a fitting replacement for Hamilton. Moreover, he believes Vettel would take the opportunity of going to Mercedes with open arms. He said (h/t racingnews365)

“Vettel would take the opportunity, 100 percent. That would be a possibility, especially since a personnel change has now also taken place at Aston Martin that may not be quite as ideal for Sebastian. If he had the opportunity to get into this team, of course, he would take it one hundred percent, because [it’s] a better chance to race again that’s what Sebastian wants. He wants to win races, he showed that too.”
