Three players Manchester City can target instead of Paulo Dybala

Daily Mail has reported that Manchester City are among the three sides that are chasing after Juventus starlet Paulo Dybala. The Argentine is an absolute magician and with the Citizens looking to add another world-class player, the 25-year-old could be their man.

Given the fact that Dybala is world-class, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will have to spend a lot to get their man. However, with Barcelona (h/t Calciomercato), Manchester United (h/t Daily Express) and many others in the race, things could get complicated fast. That said, there are other options the club can go after instead of Paulo Dybala.

#3 Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir 3

Not only would Nabil Fekir adjust well with Pep Guardiola’s tactics, but the Frenchman’s abilities in front of goal are also simply incredible for an attacking midfielder. A world-class option to have for any side, it must be noted that Pep Guardiola can take any player and transform them to their best.

Improving on a 21-goal season will be tough for any manager, but if the 26-year-old does somehow improve, then hats off. Signing him would not only help save some money, but Fekir’s work-rate combined with a catalogue of other abilities makes him a great target.

#2 Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho 1

At the age of 18, Jadon Sancho, like Kylian Mbappe, has the world at his feet with clubs from around the world begging him to join. His season may only be halfway through but Sancho has still managed to produce a total 7 goals and 10 assists in just 24 appearances. These are stunning statistics for an average player but for an 18-year-old, it’s simply incredible.

However, while Mbappe continues to set incredible targets for teenagers around the world, Sancho is a close third (behind only Matthijs de Ligt) when it comes to the best teens in world football. Not to mention, as a former Manchester City youth product, there is a great chance he will re-adapt to the Premier League.

#1 Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen Tottenham 1

The best thing to come out of Garth Bale’s transfer fee, Christian Eriksen has been an absolute revelation under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Questions will arise about fitting in two attacking midfielders in the same squad but if anyone who can do it, it’s Pep Guardiola.

The Danish international has had a good season so far, producing 15 goals in 25 appearances and helping Tottenham put pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City. But given the lack of investment into the side, there is a good chance that Eriksen will leave to earn a trophy before he retires.
