Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Fulham in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United last week and the Lilywhites will be keen to get their campaign back on track when they make the trip to west London to face Fulham on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently 3rd in the standings, nine points adrift of Liverpool at the top of the table and the Lilywhites will be looking to close the gap when they play relegation contenders Fulham.

Fulham suffered an unlucky 2-1 defeat to Burnley last week courtesy of two own goals and the Cottagers will be desperate to get something out of this fixture.

Team News

Tottenham will be faced with the daunting task of having to cope with the absence of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son up front, which might prompt a change in formation from Pochettino. Moussa Sissoko walked off with a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat against Manchester United last week and he is unlikely to play a part on Sunday.

Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier might return to the squad amidst the injury crisis while Lucas Moura is struggling with a knee problem. Victor Wanyama is ruled out with a knee injury.

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Predicted XI

1. Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman made a couple of really good saves against United last week and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Kieran Trippier (RB)

The Englishman was caught out numerous times against the Red Devils last week and Spurs will need him to rise to the occasion on Sunday.

3. Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian defended with his usual composure last week and has been a reliable presence at the heart of the defence this season.

4. Jan Vertonghen (CB)

The veteran struggled to keep up with the pace of United’s attackers at times but he has been in good form this season and should start on Sunday.

5. Danny Rose (LB)

Ben Davies did a good job defensively against Man United but he was largely anonymous in the other half and Pochettino should hand the England international a start.

6. Harry Winks (CDM)

The youngster showed a lot of composure on the ball in the middle of the park last week and played some intelligent passes to create chances.

7. Oliver Skipp (CDM)

The 18-year-old has looked solid and confident in the limited chances that he has been given and he might get a start in the absence of Sissoko, Dier and Dembele.

8. Erik Lamela (RW)

The Argentinian showed plenty of drive and energy in the midfield after replacing Sissoko in the last game and he should be amongst the starters for this one.

9. Christian Eriksen (LW)

The Danish playmaker will need to shoulder extra responsibility to cover for the absence of Kane and Son up front.

10. Dele Alli (CAM)

He has played really well as a supporting striker in a No.10 role and Pochettino should continue to use him there.

11. Fernando Llorente (ST)

The Spaniard has largely been used as an understudy to Kane but he might get a rare start in the Premier League this week.
