Ferrari will race on home turf at the Italian GP in Monza, scheduled to take place from 9-11 September – they are expected to go all white this weekend

Ferrari are expected to race with celebratory colours at the Italian GP in honour of the 75th anniversary of the first racing car built in the Prancing Horse factory.

In fact, the team has published a tweet depicting Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in tracksuits, some black and white shots that obviously do not yet reveal anything special about the chromatic choices adopted for this celebratory livery which could also be limited only to racing suits. This is also the 100th year anniversary of the historical Monza circuit.

2022 marks the 100-year anniversary of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the Monza Circuit, home of the Italian Grand Prix since 1949 (except for the 1980 running) and one of the fastest race tracks there is. Built May to July 1922, the historic Formula 1 course near the city of Monza north of Milan is one of the oldest race tracks in the world being the third circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis solely built for motor racing.

Ferrari are desperate for a good showing on home turf to catch up with Red Bull

Red Bull continue dominate the drivers’ championship standings after Verstappen secured his second consecutive race win. Max Verstappen leads the standings with 310 points followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who has once again over-taken Sergio Perez after a podium finish at Zandvoort and now occupies second spot but is tied on points (201) with Perez, who lies in third spot – ahead of George Russell, Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton.
