Mario Andretti is an Italian-born American former racing driver. He is considered being one of the most successful drivers in the history of motorsports. A former F1 world champion, Andretti is one of only two drivers to have won races in Formula One, IndyCar, the World Sportscar Championship and NASCAR. Mario Andretti was born in 1940 in Istria, which used to be a part of the Kingdom of Italy but is currently in Croatia. Andretti, along with his parents Alvise and Rina and his twin brother Aldo, left their hometown in 1948 and arrived as a refugee in Lucca, Italy.
Andretti married his late wife Dee Ann on November 25, 1961. She passed away because of a heart attack in 2018. Andretti currently lives in Bushkill Township, Pennslyvania. He owns a chain of gasoline stations and a Toyota dealership in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
