Lewis Hamilton was quick to show support for Joshua after his second straight defeat to Usyk

Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton is the latest big name to offer support to Anthony Joshua following his second straight defeat. The two-time unified heavyweight boxing champion failed in his bid to regain the WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles from Oleksandr Usyk when they rematched in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this past weekend. When the result was confirmed, Joshua reacted angrily, taking two of Usyk’s belts and throwing them out of the ring.

32-year-old Joshua has faced a lot of criticism for his performance and post-fight antics but Hamilton was one of the few to take a stance for him. Expressing his support for Joshua, Hamilton wrote on social media – “The hard work and sacrifice is something nobody will be able to understand. The challenges in mind and spirit are monumental.”

He further added, “I’m proud of you for all you put in, be proud of yourself. It’s not how we fall it’s how we get up and you will bounce back from this brother. Keep your head up.”

Lewis Hamilton is set to be back in action this weekend at the Belgian GP

Lewis Hamilton will be back in action as F1 resumes this weekend at the Belgian GP after a month-long F1 break. Hamilton had a poor start to the season but had a good streak leading to the summer break with five consecutive podium finishes. The Mercedes driver will hope for much of the same at the Belgian GP this weekend.

Red Bull dominates the drivers’ championship standings as we prepare for the resumption of F1 action this weekend after the month-long summer break. Max Verstappen leads the standings with 258 points. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc occupies second place with 178 points.
