Brock Lesnar had some trouble getting his gloves on ahead of a UFC fight

MMA cutman Jacob Duran is one of the best-known faces related to fixing up fighters. The 68-year-old has done a lot of work with kickboxers and boxers before he made a name for himself in the UFC.

While Duran has worked with most of the top names in the promotion, he has also worked for rival companies.

The 68-year-old has worked with top boxers such as Tyson Fury too, and with a ton of experience under his belt, he has some incredible stories too.

Duran was speaking exclusively to WERMMA and was asked whose hands were the biggest that he had wrapped.

The 68-year-old named former UFC champion Brock Lesnar as one of those stars:

“Biggest hands had to be Brock Lesnar.

“The thing about it is they, Shane Carwin and Lesnar, both had humongous hands but I was working with Brock Lesnar so I had to wrap him up.”

Trouble with the gloves

Duran also spoke about the clash between Carwin and Lesnar and highlighted that the UFC made special gloves for the pair.

However, it was extremely difficult to get them onto Lesnar:

“They [UFC] made special gloves, 4x gloves for these guys, and when I was working with Brock Lesnar, I’m putting his gloves on and they ripped.

“His hands were so big, it just ripped and Bert Watson, our coordinator was saying, ‘You know, what are we going to do? We only have two pairs of gloves’

“So I remember working with the Klitschko brothers, they would put Vaseline on their hand wrap and slide the glove in.

“That’s what I did with Brock Lesnar on his second pair, the only pair we had left and they went in. Of course, I had him sign the glove that he ripped. He was like the Hulk.”

Lesnar recently became a free agent after another stint in WWE. It will be interesting to see what is next for The Beast and a return to the UFC or another promotion cannot be ruled out.

Lesnar has conquered every industry he has been in, and he could be a valuable addition to AEW or Bellator too.
