Everton Player ratings vs Brighton

Everton came away with all three points with a 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at home and moved into the top ten of the Premier League standings.

The Toffees absolutely dominated the game right from the kick-off and Richarlison capped off a superb counter-attack with a thunderous finish to beat Matt Ryan at his near post.

Lewis Dunk found the equaliser with his header in the 33rd-minute but Seamus Coleman restored the lead for Marco Silva’s men with a powerful low drive.

Richarlison put the final nail in the coffin for the visitors, rounding the keeper with ease and scoring his sixth goal of the campaign to complete an authoritative display by Everton.

Jordan Pickford (6/10)

Did not have too much to do as Everton dominated the game completely; looked good with his distribution.

Seamus Coleman (7/10)

Did not have too much to do defensively and made some good overlapping runs down the right; comfortable in possession, precise with his passing and played some good crosses into the box. Scored the second goal with a powerful low drive.

Kurt Zouma (6.5/10)

Looked good with the ball at his feet and played some delightful long passes; outjumped by Lewis Dunk for Brighton’s goal.

Michael Keane (7/10)

Played some good passes to initiate build-up play; wasn’t tested much by Brighton’s attackers but won some good headers and a tidy performance overall

Lucas Digne (7/10)

Another solid performance by the former Barcelona man. Didn’t have too much defending to do but made some powerful runs down the left; linked up very well with Bernard and was very accurate with his crosses.

Idrissa Gana Gueye (7.5/10)

The Senegalese international made some good tackles and interceptions to break up the play and hit the post with a thunderous effort in the second half; showed a lot of tenacity and was impressive with his work-rate.

Andre Gomes (7/10)

He is making such a lot of difference to this Everton side. Another calm and composed display by the Portuguese international. Tidy with his passing and superb with his distribution in central midfield.

Theo Walcott (6/10)

Showed a lot of energy down the right and threatened with his pace; was poor with his final ball and missed a great scoring opportunity.

Bernard (7/10)

Played an important role down the left-hand side of the pitch. Showed some elegant touches, combined effectively with Digne and played some good crosses into the box.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.5/10)

Picked up an assist for Richarlison’s opener but missed a couple of great chances in the opening stages of the game. Sparked creativity with some intelligent passes and played as a supporting striker at times.

Richarlison (8/10)

A brilliant performance by the Brazilian. Scored the opener with a thunderous finish to beat the keeper at his near post and signed off with another goal to seal the deal for his team.
