Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ has been one of the most awaited summer flicks over the past few years, as it will feature the gorgeous Margot Robbie as the iconic doll. However, while the fact that the Australian actress is playing Barbie is well known information, many people do not know who is playing the doll’s male counterpart Ken. American actor Ryan Gosling will play Ken in the new Barbie movie. The actor brewed up a storm of reactions after the first look of him as Ken came out – fresh with platinum blonde hair and a denim vest.
Gosling first rose to fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club and has since appeared in a wealth of big-budget blockbusters and indie films. His credits include The Notebook, Blade Runner 2049, Lars and the Real Girl, Blue Valentine, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Drive, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Big Short, The Nice Guys, and First Man.

While the lead duo are absolute superstars in their own right, they will also be joined by a star cast playing the supporting characters.
While Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling lead the cast as the stereotypical Barbie and Ken in the flick, they’ll be joined by a huge supporting cast of Barbies from all kinds of different professions, as well as their trusty sidekick Kens! Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Dua Lipa and Issa Rae appear as different Barbies, while Ncuti Gatwa, Simu Liu and Scott Evans star as different Kens, to name just a few.
This weekend, Barbie takes on other highly-anticipated titles at the box office including Oppenheimer and Cobweb. With many planning their double feature screening of Oppenheimer and Barbie (lovingly dubbed Barbenheimer), there’s an absolute possibility that we’ll see Google have similar searches for names like Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Nolan.
