EA Sports UFC 5 is around the corner and here are all the leaks that have come up so far

UFC 5 is the next game from EA Sports that features some of the best MMA fighters around the world.

EA have been developing the games for a long time and recently confirmed that the new UFC game is in the works.

The handle for EA Sports UFC didn’t say much but teased that more details were to be shared in September.

However, a lot of UFC 5 leaks have been making the rounds, especially on Reddit and Twitter, and here are some of the rumours regarding the game.

UFC 5 release date

A report from Insider Gaming claims that the game should be out on October 27, 2023. EA Sports does not have a fixed release date for any of their UFC games like their other yearly series such as FIFA, which will be rebranded to EA FC from this year.

EA Sports UFC 4 came out on 14 August 2020 and has received regular updates from EA Sports, so something similar is expected for EA Sports UFC 5.

UFC 5 consoles and platforms

Another leak from UFC 5 intel on Twitter adds that the new game will only be on new/current generation consoles.

This means gamers on PS5 and Xbox Series will be able to play the game. This will disappoint many PC games as well as those who played on the previous versions of Sony and Microsoft’s consoles.

UFC 5 cover athletes

There has been a lot of discussion on who the cover athletes should be for UFC 5. The last game had Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal as the cover athletes.

Leaks have reported that former UFC Champion Valentina Shevchenko will be one of the cover athletes. She is a former Women’s Flyweight champion in the promotion and lost her title to Alexa Grasso.

Alexander Volkanovski

The other cover athlete is Alexander Volkanovski. The Australian is the Featherweight Champion and is considered as the best MMA fighter in the world, presently.

UFC 5 pre-order bonuses

Insider Gaming also confirmed the pre-order bonuses for the new UFC game. The leak claims that legends Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and Fedor Emelianenko will be on the roster of the game as pre-per bonuses.

The UFC 5 roster should also feature the biggest names in the company, and more fighters will be added with updates, something that has been a norm in all UFC games so far.

UF5 gameplay leaks

There is one big change coming to the engine of the game with Insider Gaming claiming that EA will switch to the Frostbite engine from the Ignite engine.

The report adds that the game will be played at 60 Frames Per Second (FPS) while the previous game was 30 FPS.

The fighters will also be getting updates about how they look and feel in the game and the game will be rated M for the first time.

Bruising and swelling will also accumulate with “more accuracy” as the fight progresses. The report added that there are 8 regions where cuts, bruises and swelling can occur. A source claimed that there are 64,000 ways damage can be combined.

Furthermore, the game features a cinematic replay for KOs, which will make the presentation of the game better.

Broken noses, swollen eyes and more will take place in each fight. This will also impair the fighter in question and even there could be doctor stoppages.

There is another major change in the gameplay with the submission mini-game being removed completely. There will now be a new system which is based on transitions.
