Predicted Liverpool XI to face Everton in the Premier League

Liverpool will make the short trip to the Goodison Park on Sunday to face Everton as Jurgen Klopp aims to regain the top spot of the Premier League table.

The Reds hold a one-point lead to Manchester City at the top of the table and come into Sunday’s Merseyside derby off the back of a stunning 5-0 victory over Watford.

Liverpool’s opponents on Sunday, Everton ended their three-game winless run by claiming a 3-0 success at Cardiff City on Tuesday.

Team News

Roberto Firmino missed the Watford win with a minor ankle problem but could return against Everton.

Dejan Lovren is expected to miss out the Merseyside derby, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are sidelined until late March.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson (GK)

He has started every league game thus far and is expected to do the same on Sunday as well.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Alexander-Arnold put in a brilliant performance in the 5-0 drubbing of Watford. He is expected to start this game.

Van Dijk2

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian has started each of Liverpool’s last six games and is set to continue against Everton on Sunday.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman scored twice in the big win over Watford in midweek. Van Dijk has stabilized the Liverpool backline and his presence will be very important for the Reds to win the Merseyside derby.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Robertson has been a regular fixture for the Reds this season and should start on Sunday.

Fabinho (CDM)

The Brazilian brings a lot of balance and tenacity to the Liverpool midfield. Fabinho will look to put in a big performance against the Toffees.

James Milner (RCM)

Milner is one of the key midfielders in the team and should start on the right-hand side of the midfield, looking to drive the team on.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

After a solid performance against Watford, Wijnaldum has certainly booked his place in the team for the weekend’s game.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah will be given a free role on Sunday to exploit Everton’s defensive vulnerabilities. He is expected to start on the right wing.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane (CF)

The idea to use Mane as a false 9 worked wonders against Watford as the Senegalese sizzled by scoring twice. Klopp is expected to deploy him in a similar role on Sunday as well.

Divock Origi (LW)

Firmino’s injury presented Origi a chance and boy he grabbed it! The Belgian hit the stoppage-time winner against Everton at Anfield earlier this season and will look to produce something similar this time around.
