Predicted Tottenham line-up to face Southampton in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to build on their memorable Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend. Tottenham lost at Burnley and at Chelsea, before drawing with Arsenal last weekend and Pochettino will be desperate to get a win against his former club.

Southampton are battling against relegation and need a positive result to ease some pressure off Ralph Hasenhuttl’s shoulders.

Team News

Harry Winks was forced off injured against Dortmund and remains a doubt for the trip to Southampton.

Dele Alli, meanwhile, could be in contention to feature on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris produced a fantastic performance against Dortmund in midweek and will look to build on against Southampton.

Toby Alderweireld (RCB)

One of the best defenders in the Premier League, Alderweireld will be a certain starter against his former club.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian has looked shaky at the back at times this season. Yet, he should keep his place in the team.

Jan Vertonghen (LCB)

Vertonghen adds a lot of experience and physicality to the Spurs backline. He is one of the first names on Pochettino’s team sheet.

Serge Aurier (RWB)

Aurier justified his selection ahead of Trippier against Dortmund with a solid display at right-back. The Ivorian will again get the nod to start at the weekend.

Moussa Sissoko (CM)

Sissoko has been a revelation in the midfield for Spurs, partly due to the injuries Pochettino’s side have endured. He is playing with a lot of confidence and deserves to keep his place in the team.

Eric Dier

Eric Dier (CM)

Winks’ injury could see Dier start alongside Sissoko at the heart of Tottenham midfield against the Saints on Saturday.

Danny Rose (LWB)

Rose has been preferred in the league games at left-back of late. He is a certain starter for the weekend’s fixture.

Christian Eriksen (CAM)

Eriksen is Tottenham’s creative hub, possessing the quality to open up tightest of defences with his creative passing and vision. The Dane will start in his preferred no.10 role.

Harry Kane (LS)

Kane has been in good scoring form since returning back from injury. He will look to get on the score-sheet on Saturday as well.

Heung-min Son (RS)

A willing runner, Son adds a lot of pace, flair and unpredictability to the Tottenham attack. The South Korean is an undoubted starter against a struggling Southampton side.
