Daniil Kvyat Career
Daniil Kvyat is a Russian professional racing driver who is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Prema Racing. He is a former F1 driver and completed at the highest level of the sport for a number of teams like Toro Rosso, Red Bull and AlphaTauri. He is well-recognised as the most successful Russian driver in F1 with three podium finishes to his name.
Kvyat made his Formula One debut in 2014 for Toro Rosso alongside Jean-Éric Vergne. He didn’t have any notable performances for the team during this brief stint but there were bigger things in store for him. He moved to Red Bull in 2015 replacing Sebastian Vettel and secured his first ever podium finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
His second-place finish in Hungary is the best-ever result for a Russian driver in F1 and at the same time he also became the second-youngest driver to record a podium finish, after Vettel. Despite some good results, his time with Red Bull had a premature end and he moved to Toro Rosso in 2016.
Kvyat’s second spell with Toro Rosso was not so successful and he switched to Ferrari as their third driver in 2018 before returning back to Toro Rosso for a third spell the very next season. It was a decent season as he finished in 13th place in the championship with 37 points. In 2020, Kvyat moved to AlphaTauri and it turned out to be the last season for Kvyat in F1. He might make a comeback to F1 in the future but currently he is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
