CJ Uzomah Career
Uzomah played college football for the Auburn football team from 2011-2015. He played as a tight end and caught only 29 passes in the four seasons he was there at the college. After his college career was over Cincinnati Bengals picked him in the 2015 NFL Drafts as their 5th round, 157th overall pick. Uzomah was signed to a to a four-year $2.49 million contract.
His NFL debut came in the 15-16 season against the Cleveland Browns. In the same game he also caught his first ever NFL reception in the fourth quarter. Uzomah ended his first year with only five games played and that to none of them were starts. He also appeared in the playoffs against the Pittsburgh Steelers which ended in a defeat.
Uzomah was named as the starting tight end in only his second year at the Bengals. However was only able to make eight starts throughout the season while scoring 25 receptions and one touchdown. 2018 proved to be his best year till date. He made 15 starts in the season while scoring 43 receptions and 3 touchdowns.
In 2019, Uzomah signed a contract extension for three years’ worth $18 million. 2020 saw his first major injury in his professional career when he tore his Achilles tendon in only the second game of the season.
