The 18-year-old Coco Gauff has come of age this year on the back of some sensational performances on tour – she recently received praise from the legendary Chris Evert.

Coco Gauff qualified for the 2022 WTA Finals after Aryna Sabalenka failed to win her second-round clash against Liudmila Samsonova. The Belarusian eventually qualified for the WTA finals but Gauff created history by becoming the youngest player after Maria Sharapova to qualify for the season’s year-end championships.

The 2022 French Open finalist has been widely praised for her tenacity and she has done justice to her potential so far. Gauff has all the tools required to become a multi-time Grand Slam champion and maybe 2023 could be her year.

Famous tennis journalist, Ben Rothenberg, tweeted that there was an effort to not overhype Gauff when she started but felt that everyone could stop and just praise the youngster for being amazing.

The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion, Chris Evert, quote retweeted Rothenberg’s tweet and agreed that Gauff is amazing both on and off the court. She wrote:

“😂😂😂😂totally agree….. she’s awesome on and off the court!👍”
