Why Burnley should bring in Derby County star Jayden Bogle

Sean Dyche and his Burnley side have struggled this season with the club sitting 15th in the Premier League table. While they are three points above the relegation zone, the Clarets are still in the battle to save their season. With the January window open, they have a chance to save themselves.

Sky Sports have heavily linked Sean Dyche and company with a move for Derby County starlet Jayden Bogle with the 18-year old impressing under manager Frank Lampard.  The right-back has been in fine form this season and is improving day by day, which is great news for the Championship side.

The 18-year-old has impressed this season, making 26 appearances in all competitions for Derby County which has come to the attention of a few Premier League sides.

However, at the moment, only Burnley are interested in him and the Clarets need to make sure they seal the deal before any other side enters the race. Simply put, Sean Dyche has only two right-back options in 29-year-old Matthew Lowton and 33-year-old Phil Bardsley.

Neither are long-term options and adding Jaydon Bogle could be just the thing the Clarets need, and given the status of their ageing right-backs, the 18-year-old could even get some first-team Premier League action this season. That’s only if Burnley decides to pony up and pay the £8million demanded by the Rams for their teenage star.

But given Bogle’s skill-set, few Championship sides and even Premier League teams wouldn’t want the 18-year-old Derby County star.

A former winger, Bogle’s offensive ability does at the moment out-do his defensive ones, but like most teenagers, he has time and a long way to go. At the moment an £8 million investment would be nothing for Burnley, and it would most definitely pay off in the near future, given Bogle’s rise.

The 18-year-old only just started playing regular football for the Rams and has already been called one of their best prospects, having flourished under Frank Lampard. While he will no doubt take some time to adjust to the Premier League, Jaydon Bogle’s experience in the Championship will no doubt help make the transition easier.
