Brandon Xavier Ingram a.k.a Brandon Ingram was the 2nd overall draft pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2016 NBA draft. Ingram plays in the position of Small forward and is the 2020 NBA Most Improved Player.
Ingram played college basketball for Duke University from 2015 to 2016. During his college career, Ingram was named to the 2016 Second-team All-ACC and also won the 2016 ACC Rookie of the Year.
On April 4, 2016, Ingram declared for the 2016 NBA draft, forgoing his final three years of college eligibility. Consequently, Ingram was selected second overall by the LA Lakers in the 2016 NBA Draft.
In his rookie year for the Lakers, Ingram averaged 9.4 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game in 28.8 minutes. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team at the end of the season.
The following 2017-18 season and the 2018-19 season were not good for Ingram. He suffered major season-ending injuries in both seasons and was thus not able to play.
Then on July 6, 2019, Ingram was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. In 2020, he became an All-Star as a Pelican. He also won the 2020 NBA Most Improved Player award after averaging 23.8 points. 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
