Boyfriend Dungeon is a dungeon crawler-dating sim indie game developed by Kitfox Games. This is a curious mix of two genres. The game was funded through a Kickstarter campaign online. It managed to raise $272,000 and surpassed its goal.
Plot
Dungeon Boyfriend takes place in an urban fantasy setting. The player character must fight through dungeons with the help of a human partner who can transform into a sentient weapon. Outside of dungeons, the player can date their partner in visual novel-style sequences that increase their power in combat. You can select the gender of the main character.
The main character lives in a city called Verona Beach. In this city, the humans are constantly attacked by monsters. The player fights in dungeons using weapons created from transformed humans or other creatures. The weapons can be dated to increase their power. The game also contains a platonic relationship with a cat called, ‘Pocket the Cat.’

The game has a main character that the player controls. The gender of the main character can be decided by the player. The player can date the weapons in their sentient form. Each weapon has a different personality based on its weapon type.
