Bellator will return to action this Friday with a star-studded card at San Jose, California headlined by the rematch between A.J. McKee and Patricio Pitbull. Freire was on a seven-fight win streak before AJ took his title away from him. He will be expecting a tougher challenge this time and aim to reclaim his title.
The co-main event marks the conclusion of another Grand Prix when champion Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson battle to compete for the light heavyweight belt. Nemkov has run berserk over the division since joining Bellator back in 2017. He will be looking forward to cementing his legacy as the one true light heavyweight champion of the promotion. He will face resistance from a determined Corey Anderson, who has been on a track to rejuvenation winning three consecutive fights.
Jeremy Kennedy had been forced out of Bellator 277 and Adli Edwards (9-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will step in on short notice to face Aaron Pico (9-3 MMA, 9-3 BMMA) on April 15 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Pico fought the full duration for the first time in his career when he scored a one-sided unanimous decision victory over Justin Gonzales at Bellator 271. Before that, the 25-year-old had four straight finishes over Daniel Carey, Chris Hatley, John de Jesus and Aiden Lee.
