Medvedev might not have added a Grand Slam to his trophy cabinet after his sensational win at the US Open last year but he has won the Los Cabos Open and the Vienna Open. He reached the top of the ATP rankings this year but couldn’t hold on for a long time. Medvedev finished runner-up at the Australian Open, the Libema Open, and the Halle Open.

Last year, Medvedev lost in the final against Alexander Zverev. The 26-year-old most recently played in the Paris Masters but he could not progress beyond the round of 32. He lost to Alex de Minaur.

Andrey Rublev

World No. 7 has added four titles to his trophy cabinet this year. He won titles at the Open 13, the Dubai Tennis Championships, the Serbia Open, and the Gijon Open. Rublev could not progress beyond the group stage last year in Turin. This year he will hope to go deep in the season-ending competition.

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 4-1 in favor of Medvedev. He won their first four encounters but Rublev came out victorious in their last meeting in three sets in the Western & Southern Open last year.
