Predicted Man United XI to face Wolves in the FA Cup

Man United were flying high after a victory over PSG in the Champions League but a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal saw the Red Devils slip down to 5th in the Premier League standings.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be looking to bounce back when they make the trip to Molineux on Sunday to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

The Red Devils beat Chelsea 2-0 in the 5th round of the competition and they will once again be the favourites for this clash, albeit Wolves are far from an easy opposition by any means.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be a worried man heading into the FA Cup tie, with many of his first-team players struggling to shake off injuries.

Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia are ruled out while Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera will be pushing for a return from their hamstring injuries. Phil Jones is doubtful to play a part, having been down with an illness in recent games.

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Predicted XI

1. David de Gea (GK)

The Spaniard couldn’t keep out Xhaka’s effort against Arsenal but he has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Eric Bailly (LCB)

The Ivorian looked shaky against PSG but he deserves another chance to prove himself in the FA Cup.

3. Chris Smalling (CB)

He was one of the standout performers at the back in the defeat against Arsenal and should retain his place at the heart of the defence.

4. Victor Lindelof (RCB)

The Swedish international had a poor game last time around but he has been pretty consistent in recent weeks and should get another start.

The Englishman was arguably United’s best attacker against Arsenal and contributed equally to both attack and defence.

7. Paul Pogba (LCM)

He had a poor game by his standards against Arsenal and United will need their star man to be at his best to on Sunday.

8. Scott McTominay (CM)

The youngster was dropped against Arsenal to accommodate Nemanja Matic but he should be back in the eleven after a lacklustre performance from the Serb.

9. Andreas Pereira (RCM)

The Brazilian had a couple of good outings against Southampton and PSG and Solskjaer should hand him another start ahead of Fred, who was quite wasteful in the last game.
