Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game that was released in 2018. The game was inspired by the party game ‘Mafia’ and space related movies.
It wasn’t really popular until 2020. In 2020, the game saw a huge surge in popularity with many YouTubers and twitch streamers playing the game.
The game takes place on a spaceship where each round the player is randomly assigned to be an imposter or a crewmate. The crewmates job is to do his tasks and keep the ship in working condition.
While the imposter has to sabotage the ship and kill the crewmates without being detected. The crewmates have find who the imposter is by asking questions. At the end of the meeting, they can vote to kick out the imposter.
Among Us consoles
Currently, Among Us is available on PC, android, ios and Nintendo Switch. It was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2020. The developers have also announced that the game will be released for the consoles.
Among Us will be releasing for the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game will have crossplay enabled with the PC and mobile devices. The game is also available on the Xbox Pass for the PC version.
Console Release date
Innersloth has announced that the game will be releasing for the consoles in 2021. They have not revealed a specific date for the release. According to some sources, the delay is caused by the communication system in the game.
They have encountered some issues while implementing the player communication system as a standard text based and voice based communication seemed unusable. They are considering using the ‘quick comms’ system from Rocket League or developing an entirely new system for the game.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of this popular game for their consoles. It is planned to be released in 2021.
