Why Wolves should go all out to sign Willian Jose this summer?

After overcoming a slow start to the Premier League season, Wolverhampton Wanderers have continued to sparkle and are trying every bit to secure a place in the top-seven upon their promotion from the Championship.

Nuno Espirito Santo spent big in the summer transfer window that itself showed the ambitions of the club and what they want to achieve in the Premier League. Wolves backed Santo wholeheartedly in the summer transfer window, allowing the manager to get the players that fit his style of play.

The idea to make some big money-signings hasn’t backfired, with Nuno managing to build a brilliant squad that has played an exciting brand of football in the top-flight and thrilled the neutrals. A place in the Europa League next season would be massive for Wolves given the fact that it’ll help them in attracting some really top players from across the globe.

Nuno Espirito Santo

Raul Jimenez has made a mark in his debut Premier League season after joining on a season-long loan from Benfica last summer. Jimenez has scored 10 goals and supplied five assists in 28 league games but Nuno needs to find another source for goals next season if they are to challenge in Europe.

That being said, Wolves should make a move for Real Sociedad hitman Willian Jose.

Willian Jose, 27, has been in fantastic form for Real Sociedad this season. He has already netted nine goals and provided three assists in 21 La Liga games. He is playing the best bit of football currently and Wolves should take notice of it and table an audacious bid this summer.

In Willian Jose, Wolves would get a strong, powerful centre-forward with solid technique, good ability in the air and excellent composure in front of goal. He possesses the ability to time his jump to perfection to win the aerial duels and can outmuscle defenders in the box with his 6ft 2in frame. The 27-year-old uses his body to shield the ball from the defenders and holds the ball up in the final third for his teammates to get into scoring positions.

Willian Jose

An incredibly instinctive centre-forward, the Brazilian seems to know exactly where the goal is and that makes him a really tricky player to mark. Willian Jose is an archetypal target man striker who possesses the ability to link up play between the midfield and attack, whilst creating chances for his teammates. Furthermore, his impressive movement, combined with his clinical finishing would certainly help add a level of potency to Wolves’ attacking play.

All in all, the Brazilian would bring solid competition for Jimenez next season if Wolves turn the Mexican’s loan deal into a permanent one. With Wolves possessing the potential to qualify for the Europa League, Nuno must make a statement of intent by signing Willian Jose this summer.
