Orange Cassidy was reportedly knocked out on this week’s AEW Dynamite

This Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite had a lot in store for the fans, with Miro winning his first AEW title and Jon Moxley being in action against Yuji Nagata.

But one match that caught the attention was between Orange Cassidy and PAC. The two battled in a Number One Contender Match for the AEW World Championship.

According to a report by PWInsider (h/t WrestlingInc), the match was originally supposed to end in a draw after around 20 minutes.

But OC was legitimately knocked out by PAC in the middle of their fight. The video above shows a big foot to his face, followed by a ruthless powerbomb.

This resulted in AEW having to change the outcome of the match. PAC struck OC with the belt and the match resulted in a double count out.

After the bell rung, Tony Schiavone came out, on Tony Khan’s order, to announce what the result of the fight meant.

He announced that Kenny Omega will have to defend his AEW World Championship title against both Cassidy and PAC at AEW: Double or Nothing on May 30th, 2021.

OC also seemed like he wanted to continue fighting but it was good on AEW’s part to react quickly and change the result of the match seamlessly.

Getting knocked out is common in MMA; but pro wrestling has had very few instances of it in the past, with Mick Foley’s incident against The Undertaker perhaps being the most famous.

We hope that OC is doing well and that there are no injuries sustained in the aftermath of that match.
