Kenny Omega has been suffering from a shoulder injury for quite a while, and it looks like he might need surgery soon
It looks like Kenny Omega might be out of action for months. The former AEW champion lost his title to Hangman Page last week at AEW Full Gear.
Omega, one of the best wrestlers in the world, has got an ongoing shoulder injury which he has been dealing with for quite a while.
It is believed that he will be undergoing surgery for the same soon. As a result, he is expected to be out of action for a while.
The exact time he will be out is not exactly known. However, the AEW is expected to shed more light upon the same in a short while. The news was first reported by PW Insider.
It looks like Omega has viewed this as the right time to take some time off.
Future internal rivalry withing ‘The Elite’?
Just as Kenny Omega announced that he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from wrestling, a possibility for a future internal rivalry within ‘The Elite’ emerged.
In a backstage segment, Omega asked Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) to ‘hold down the fort.’ That was when Adam Cole responded saying that he would handle things in Omega’s absence.
It is worth noting that Cole made his AEW debut only in September 2021. He was a part of the WWE prior to that.
