He became the leader of the Dark Order and was called The Exalted One. Lee had some great matches on AEW but wasn’t seen on TV for a couple of months.

Lee’s wife also posted the news of his passing away and added that this was not related to Covid-19 but due to a lung issue he had in the past.

She thanked AEW for all that they had done for the family and was broken to lose her husband. AEW also posted a message online and many WWE and AEW stars could not believe what had happened.

One of the best people ever

While Harper played the role of a heel during his WWE and AEW run, most wrestlers could only say positive things for the 41-year-old.

Lee is the father of two children and many claimed that he was one of the best to take care of his family. The 41-year-old was also great in the ring, despite his size, and often saved his opponents from serious injuries, something that Mustafa Ali brought up.

Ali also brought up how everyone seemed to love Lee and that was testament to his nature

Sheamus also brought up how great a family man Lee was:

Bray Wyatt, who spent a lot of time with Lee in the Wyatt Family, was broken and posted a long and emotional tribute on Instagram too:

“Where do we go now? What do I do knowing I’ll never hear your condescending sarcasm as I am riding high. I miss you so f****** much already. I would do anything just live through our worst moments again I can’t believe you’re gone. I’m so sorry brother. I’m so sorry.”

Big E, who recently became the Intercontinental Champion also posted some hilarious stories about how great Lee was:

Charlotte Flair and Stephanie McMahon also paid tributes to how great a family man he was too:

Aleister Black, William Regal and many others also paid tribute to Harper:

The King also brought up how great and safe a worker Lee was:

Tony Nese also had a great idea for Lee’s children and wanted all these stories made into a book:

The wrestling world has lost many names this year and Lee was another taken away too early. We at Mediareferee offer our condolences to Lee’s family.
