WWE and AEW Rumor Roundup for March 22, 2022, including Stone Cold update, Gable Steveson push, Omos WrestleMania match and more!

These are all the latest rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.

1.Stone Cold update before WrestleMania

While speaking on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer stated that a mutual friend of himself and Austin has recently seen The Rattle Snake at a training session and have said that Austin is in fantastic shape.

Dave Meltzer has said that Stone Cold Steve Austin is expected to take his shirt off, and there is gonna be a fight between Kevin Owens and him; there’s gonna be a brawl without a doubt. It might also last for seven minutes or so.

This was what Meltzer had to say about Stone Cold,

“He’s training very hard, so it’s gonna be more than that. Will he do a 20-minute match? No, I don’t think so. Will he goes 7 minutes or something and has a brawl all over? I kind of expect that, yeah.” (H/t Ringside News)

2. Gable Steveson to get a massive push 

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Olympic Gold medalist Gable Steveson will be “on the Raw brand as a regular very soon and will be getting a lot of push.

Steveson recently won his second consecutive NCAA Championship and took retirement from wrestling to make a move on pro-wrestling. He was signed by WWE as the first NIL deal. 

Olympian Gable Steveson will be making his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38. Steveson was drafted to the RAW brand last October. He signed a multi-year deal with WWE last September as a part of the first-ever exclusive NIL agreement. WWE also set up a remote training facility for Steveson near the University of Minnesota Campus. The wrestler would work with WWE coaches to learn the style of play.

3. Omos to get singles matches

According to Fightful Select, WWE’s plan was for Omos to face Bobby Lashley as of last weekend. However, that plan could change if Lashley isn’t cleared from his shoulder injury.

WrestleVotes has also tweeted that Omos is getting a singles match for WrestleMania.

Source states, as of now, Omos is indeed getting a singles WrestleMania match. And his opponent may surprise some people… It’s not Veer. Or Cody for that matter.

4. Bayle might return after WrestleMania

According to PWInsider, the latest update on Bayley says that she’s expected to be back “within the next month,” but it probably won’t be until after WrestleMania. 

5. WrestleMania will be a regular two-night event

Dave Meltzer has said that WrestleMania will likely continue to be a two-night event. It has been a two-nighter since 2020. This year is going to mark the third straight year as two-night WrestleMania.

Meltzer has also stated that the first step in WWE’s decision-making process is to monitor ticket sales. This year the number’s till now appear to be a satisfactory one.
