The WWE, AEW Rumor Roundup for June 9, 2022, includes MJF Going Hollywood, Apollo Crews move, NXT Cuts and more!

These are all the latest rumor roundups in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s look at the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.

1. MJF going Hollywood

The latest reports emerged from Fightful Select that Tony Khan met with MJF at the Rampage in Las Vegas the night before the no-show meet & greet but no word on what they talked about or how it went. They also note that MJF is staying in Los Angeles after his promo last week but didn’t attend AEW’s party with Warner Discovery excess and wasn’t at Rampage in Ontario, California.

His LA stating is pertinent because MJF has been telling people he wants to explore his options in Hollywood since March. He claims to have recorded a voice role for an upcoming animated project. Some sources have also said Fightful that he had meetings later last week about other potential acting opportunities.

2. Rush update

AEW Star Rush has told Lucha Libre Online that he has a per appearance deal with AEW. However, he and Tony Khan are still in talks about a contract.

This is what he had to say about his AEW stand at the moment,

“I am grateful to Tony Khan for giving me the opportunity,” Rush said. “We are still under talks and negotiations. For now, there are just dates (not a full-time contract). I already did the first jump (step), which is being in the PPV, and not just a segment, but they gave it the value that both Rush and Andrade have. They left that promo for the end. Nobody expected it, not even my own family.”

3. Apollo Crews update

According to PW Insider, Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez have been moved to the NXT roster.

This week on NXT saw Apollo Crews returning to the developmental brand after almost seven years. He came face to face with NXT Champion Bron Breakker to congratulate him. Solo Sikoa was about to face Melo and Waller in a 2 on 1 handicap match. Still, he shocked everyone by bringing out the returning Apollo Crews as his partner.

Crews picked up the victory for his team by dropping Waller with the spinning powerbomb.

4. More releases on NXT

Bryan Alvares of Wrestling Observer Bryan & Vinnie Show has hinted that there will be more releases in NXT soon.

“Every six months, they evaluate you, and if you aren’t getting better, you’re done for — and apparently, they made some evaluations, including some names you would know. So we may get some changes coming to NXT 2.0.”

A few months back in April, WWE released two long-time NXT roster members, Dakota Kai, Malcolm Bivens, and some others.
