Aalyah and Murphy seem to be the next love storyline from WWE but they also destroyed Mandy Rose on her Raw return
Mandy Rose made her return to WWE Raw on this week’s show but the promotion really wrecked her appearance.
They decided to pair her up with a random star and that didn’t really click. Many might have thought that Rose would feature in singles matches but WWE had other plans.
This was the first show after a great 2020 Clash of Champions, however, Raw had a lot of misses from the show.
Misses
1) Lana the punching bag, again
Lana was in the wars once again as she got some dangerous spots from Rose. WWE seems to have targeted the Ravishing Russian as her partner, Natalya, barely had a role to play in the match.
Lana has gone through a couple of tables and ate the loss, but something has to change. For now, it seems they have found a punching keep and keep using the same one over and over again.
2) Rose’s return
As stated above, Rose was paired up with Dana Brooke and the pair destroyed Lana and Natalya.
The pair spoke about battling for the WWE Women’s tag titles, but this felt a little off.
WWE randomly paired two stars together with no back story whatsoever, even though Rose tried to highlight how Brooke was with her.
Rose returning to Raw was supposed to be great but it ended up being one of the poorest segments on this week’s show.
3) Love story 2020
WWE did it again. We spoke about how they didn’t need to push a love angle between Aalyah Mysterio and Murphy but they did it.
Seth Rollins stole Murphy’s phone to share some text messages between Aalyah and Murphy. This led to a fight between Murphy and Dominik Mysterio with Aalyah slapping her brother.
Aalyah is just 19 and being paired with 31-year-old Murphy isn’t great. The story isn’t right and WWE are trying too hard to make something out of nothing and wasting four great talents.
Hits
1) Legends unite
WWE Raw started off with four legends in the ring accompanied by Drew McIntyre. Ric Flair, The Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels all were present in the ring and they helped McIntyre defeat Randy Orton at Clash of Champions.
It was great seeing all four of them and their exchange with the champion was great too. WWE gave them some time to shine and it was a pity that the real live fans were there for this occasion.
2) Orton slithers his way in
Orton might have been attacked by five people in the ambulance match on Sunday but he made his presence felt.
While it seemed he left the arena after the opening segment, the Viper slithered back dressed as a janitor.
He also wore night-vision goggles and attacked all the WWE legends after he cut the power. This was an ingenious way to get back at them and remain the heel that he is.
3) Vega impresses
Zelina Vega got another crack at Asuka and her Raw Women’s title. La Muneca put on a much better show of it than at Clash of Champions but she still fell short.
The heel then attacked Asuka while feigning respect for the Empress of Tomorrow. Andrade might have mocked Vega for failing to win the second chance, but La Muneca could be the top female heel as she continues her singles career.
