WWE SmackDown results, winners, grades and reaction 6 March 2020

WWE SmackDown results, winners, grades and reaction: This was the final WWE episode before Elimination Chamber 2020 and it had to pack a bit of a punch.

There were some intriguing storylines going into this SmackDown with a Firefly Fun House segment, however, we started with some legends coming to speak during ‘A Moment of Bliss’.

Strowman and nWo

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross started the evening by running down the names of the 2020 Hall of Fame.

They also challenged Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s tag titles before introducing the nWo.

Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman spoke about them being inducted into the Hall of Fame but were interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn.

The six men almost came to blows as the heels spoke about winning the IC title at Elimination Chamber from Braun Strowman, but the Monster came out to chase them away.

Grade D

This segment didn’t help anyone except Strowman, who seemed set to do well in the handicap match.

Zayn did his bit on the microphone but this segment didn’t really need to include the nWo and Bliss, and it was a bit of a mess with three different stories going on together.

Women’s tag match

Bayley and Sasha Banks were at it again as they faced the pairing of Naomi and Lacey Evans.

The heels did their bit in the clash and dominated most of the match. There were some chances for Evans and Naomi to get the win, but Banks and Bayley picked up the victory.

Grade C

This match also made no real sense ahead of Elimination Chamber, and we still don’t know who Bayley is going to face at WrestleMania.

Naomi was the No.1 contender recently but is she still the one?

Sheamus is back

The Irishman has been missed in a WWE ring for a while and he took on Apollo Crews.

This was another chance for Sheamus to show-off his skills, and he did that easily against Crews.

Sheamus used a Brogue kick to pick up another win.

Grade C

Sheamus returning from a long injury should have been a boost for WWE. However, they are wasting his talent by making him take part in unnecessary feuds.

Fire & Desire shine

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were in action against the pairing of Dana Brooke and Carmella.

Fire & Desire have been going strong since Dolph Ziggler dating Rose, and the Show Off was there to help out by distracting Brooke and helping ‘his team’ to a win.

Rose and Deville beat Brooke and Carmella

Grade C

The match didn’t have much to highlight but the storyline progression is a plus. Ziggler seems to have a hand in how Fire & Desire do, while the pairing look good for a tag team title shot.

It is a pity that Carmella has been shunted down to this level, especially ahead of WrestleMania.

Why John Cena?

The Firefly Fun House segment was back as Bray Wyatt, and friends, answered the important question, Why John Cena?

Rambling Rabbit brought out the question and Wyatt claimed that it was his loss in 2014 at WrestleMania that made him choose the star.

Wyatt was at his best in the promo and ended in a menacing tone.

Grade A

Cena’s win over Wyatt at WrestleMania 30 is a decent point for WWE to work with ahead of the big clash in a month.

Wyatt was excellent in the promo and claimed had it not been for Cena, The Fiend wouldn’t have been here.

Gauntlet match for Chamber final slot

The main event was a six-team tag match would decide which team would come out of the Elimination Chamber last on Sunday.

This match was always going to be crazy, especially with so much talent available.

It was Otis and Tucker taking on The New Day with Heavy Machinery coming out on top.

Otis and Tucker next faced Lucas House Party, but the high flyers were also eliminated.

The Usos came out next and tried to take advantage of a tired Otis and Tucker. However, Tucker picked up a surprise pin to eliminated the Usos too.

The champions, Miz and Morrison came out and after a gritty battle, it was still Tucker and Otis standing tall.

They last faced Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode but it was the heels that won the title.

Grade A

This was a great match with a lot of high flying moves. Pushing Otis and Tucker right till the end was great, especially with Otis getting a chance to face Ziggler, and continuing the Mandy Rose love story.

It also kept the fans interested as they kept on cheering Heavy Machinery but it just wasn’t meant to be for them.
