WWE NXT preview: Roderick Strong will be in action defending his NXT North American title on Christmas night

WWE NXT preview: Christmas is finally here and what better way than to celebrate a special night with a special fight.

Undisputed Era member Roderick Strong won the NXT North American title from The Velveteen Dream in September and will be in action.

It is to be seen who he faces in the clash, but one thing is for sure, this is going to be an excellent battle.

Tag team action

Lio Rush lost his NXT Cruiserweight title to Angel Garza but will be in tag team action on Christmas night.

He teams up with Keith Lee as the pair face Damien Priest and Tony Nese. Rush has been excellent since returning to NXT and it will be interesting to see how he teams up with Lee.

Priest and Nese are great athletes in their own right and should give a tough time to their rivals.

Other storylines

Rhea Ripley climbed the top of the mountain by defeating Shayna Baszler to win the NXT Women’s title.

Ripley has been incredible since making her debut at NXT UK, and the big question is who will be her first challenger?

Finn Balor also was in title action last week but lost to Adam Cole with a little help from Johnny Gargano.

Balor had attacked nearly every wrestler on the main roster since returning, at least the ones in line to fight for the NXT title, and he could be up against Gargano again.

Kushida and Cameron Grimes continued their rivalry last week, and that should be another angle WWE should look into for the upcoming NXT episode.
