NXT 2.0 superstar Hayes had been trending just a few days ago in India.
Carmelo Hayes has an uncanny resemblance to ace Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. On Thursday, pictures started doing the rounds of Hardik and Hayes, exhibiting striking similarities in their facial appearance. The wrestler on knowing the scenario, thanked Hardik in a tweet. He wrote:
“@hardikpandya7 has me trending in India. Much love”
Hardik Pandya is popular among the youth, thanks to his hard-hitting batting abilities and flamboyant persona. Carmelo has become quite popular in India ever since and he has enjoyed every bit of it.
Hardik is a multiple-time Indian Premier League winner with his former franchise Mumbai Indians. He wasn’t retained by the Mumbai Indians this time. He will be leading a new side this season named Gujarat Titans and the team’s twitter handle shared a tweet on Sunday after the comparisons between Hardik and Carmelo had gone through the roof. It read: “Is it just us, ya tumko bhi do Hardik bhai dikh rahe hain?” meaning “Is it just us or you are seeing two Hardik Pandyas as well?”
Carmelo quote retweeted saying: “This is wild lol” and it’s apparent how he is loving the attention he is getting in India.
Carmelo Hayes has his hands full this week on NXT 2.0
Carmelo has been able to walk the talk as he defeated Cameron Grimes a couple of week ago, but the road only gets tougher.
The exuberant Hayes went past a very game Cameron Grimes at NXT 2.0, a couple of weeks ago. He retained his NXT North American Championship in the process. Last week, “The A-Champion” was cutting a promo inside the ring when “The Baddest Man in NXT” – Pete Dunne made his way into the ring to challenge him for the NXT North American Title.
Hayes accepted the challenge and soon after, he was attacked by Cameron Grimes. Grimes took out the champion. It appears to be a three-way tussle for the title now as Grimes hasn’t thrown in the towel as yet.
Pete Dunne maybe drafted to the main roster soon, so he might become the champion right before the transfer takes place. Although the A-Champion might be given an extended push owing to his latest increase in fan following after the Hardik Pandya saga.
