According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE isn’t planning to let him go at the moment. The two sides have spoken, and the company has told clearly that they will not be granting his request for a release. Ali still has a few years left in the contract but hasn’t been used on television for a long time.

“WWE does not plan to grant Mustafa Ali’s request for release, Fightful Select has learned.”

However, it was said that the term “value” was brought up a lot in the discussions between Ali and WWE. But it is still unclear why the company won’t grant the release since it has been releasing so many superstars, staff, and employees since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020.

Mustafa Ali and Vince McMahon were involved in a heated arguement

WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali has requested his WWE release and reports suggested that there was an incident that saw him and Vince McMahon involved in a “heated argument.”

Reports also added that Ali’s absence was simply because nothing was planned for the former RETRIBUTION leader. It has also been stated that Ali was sent home early for the requested paternity leave, and he’s not been on the road since Survivor Series.

This is what Ali posted on Twitter regarding his request for the release.

“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling,” Ali wrote. “Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”
