WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle shares his 10-year journey

Before being a WWE Wrestler, Matt Riddle was a professional MMA fighter – from 2008 to 2014. He made his UFC debut on June 21, 2008, and in 10 years, he began working for one of the biggest wrestling brands, WWE.

Riddle took to Twitter and shared his journey from MMA to WWE in 10 years with two pictures.

He signed with WWE in 2018 and was assigned to the NXT brand, where he was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Pete Dunne. 

Matt Riddle had some outstanding records at UFC 

Riddle made his debut at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale against Ultimate Fighter castmate Dante Rivera via unanimous decision. He then made a name for himself by appearing on SpikeTV’s The Ultimate Fighter 7 and holding a four-fight winning streak in the UFC. He also had a compiled career record of 8-3 (2).

Wrestling Observer Newsletter recognized him as the Rookie of the Year and Most Improved wrestler of the year in 2016. In WWE, also he made a name for himself as he won the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament and was promoted to the main roster within one year of joining.

Matt became the new United States Champion in February 2021 and also became the Raw Tag Team Champions with Randy Orton in August 2021. His championship reigns are pretty substantial as both of his reigns were briefly long.
