Triple H full of praise for new WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley

Following the events of Night 2 of WrestleMania 37 on Sunday night, former WWE Superstar Triple H took to twitter to praise Rhea Ripley.

It was a momentous occasion for Ripley as she defeated Asuka at the Showcase of the Immortals to become the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

It was only a few weeks ago that The Nightmare was promoted to the main roster from WWE NXT. Inserted into the Raw Women’s title programme against Asuka right away, Ripley went on to pick up the biggest win of her career on Sunday night at WrestleMania.

After a nice back and forth, hard-hitting contest, Ripley scored the pin on the Empress of Tomorrow by hitting a Riptide.

Triple H hails Rhea Ripley after WrestleMania win

Ripley made her WrestleMania debut last year against Charlotte Flair. But she ended up losing her NXT Women’s Championship to The Queen. However, there was no such misstep this time around, as WWE put the belt on The Nightmare, who looked dominant in the match against Asuka.

And Triple H, who has seen her from close quarters through her NXT Days, was full of praise for Ripley after her triumphant moment at the Show of Shows. Taking to Twitter, The Game wrote how everyone kept saying Ripley was the future of WWE but she was here and had proven herself in the present.

With the win, Ripley ended Asuka’s run of 231 days at the top of the Raw Women’s division. At just 24 years of age, The Nightmare is one of the most promising performers at WWE’s disposal.

The bout between the two wasn’t exactly a classic. But Ripley’s crowning moment was a redemptive one for both her as well as WWE, who had botched her push at the last WrestleMania by having her put Charlotte over.

Prior to Ripley’s triumph, Bianca Belair won the SmackDown Women’s Championship on Night 1 by beating Sasha Banks. There was a change of titles on NXT as well with Raquel Gonzalez ending Io Shirai’s run with the belt.
