Tommy Dreamer was booking the WWE WrestleMania 37 card and wanted Edge to get some assistance from Christian
WrestleMania 37 is just a few months away and the main talking point has been who Edge faces at the show.
The Rated-R Superstar can take on any of the top champions on the three brands but it seems that Roman Reigns seems to be his most obvious target.
WWE seems to be heading that way, although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, and it seems many former stars also wanted to see that clash.
Tommy Dreamer was on the Busted Open Podcast and Bully Ray asked him about the main event of WrestleMania.
Dreamer saw Drew McIntyre defending his title against Sheamus and believed that Reigns should do the same with Edge.
However, he also wanted some help for Edge from a WWE legend. Christian has made sporadic appearances in WWE recently, including the 2021 Royal Rumble, and Captain Charisma could have a big role to play at Mania:
“If I am booking it, I am doing Edge vs Roman. I will bring in Christian to be in his corner to counter Jey Uso and or Paul Heyman.
“Don’t know if the NXT title would be represented but just the history between Edge, Paul and Roman, would be great for SmackDown.”
Edge and Christian won multiple titles as a pair during their first WWE run, and this could be a great way to continue that friendship and also nullify Paul Heyman and Jey Uso on Reigns’ side.
Tommy Dreamer believes someone else could have faced Roman Reigns at WrestleMania too
There is also the question of who else could have done the job at Mania against Reigns. Dreamer backed Big E to do the deed but this couldn’t happen since E was already the Intercontinental Champion.
E has been in a big rivalry with several stars and Dreamer believed that Apollo Crews could be E’s rival for WrestleMania.
Edge vs Reigns should be a great event but a story featuring Christian would be amazing too. Captain Charisma has looked great in his few appearances for WWE and a Mania moment would go well for him too.
