The Undertaker shares physical strain of not being able to perform anymore

Legendary wrestler The Undertaker shared his in-ring career coming to an end, WrestleMania being two nights and other things which The Phenom still dreams of.

The Undertaker’s last match was at WrestleMania 36, where he defeated former WWE Champion AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match. He officially announced his retirement from the sport at Survivor Series last year.

Talking to Dallas Morning News, the wrestler said:

“I mean, I could go out and walk through something and I could get through a match. But I can’t give people what they expect at this point. When you see Undertaker, you pay money to see that guy wrestle. I can’t deliver physically on what people’s expectations are.”

The Undertaker also opened up on whether or not he will be a part of WWE WrestleMania 38 next year, which will emanate from his home state of Texas.

The legendary wrestler has been an integral part of WrestleMania for over three decades, and the PPE event never feels the same without him.

“I think it’s always in my head and in my heart, especially getting ready for WrestleMania here at AT&T Stadium it’s just like … man. But it’s just at a point where physically, I can’t perform at a level. “

“The passion is obviously still there. I think that will always be there. It’s just the physical side of it. … My time has come, my time has gone. This is the WWE and things happen, you never know. But I know that my time has passed and it’s time for these young guys to step up and take over and lead us to where we’re going.”

The Undertaker finally retires

At the annual WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view last year, 30 years after making his debut at the same event, The Undertaker made his final farewell address. Legends such as Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and The Big Show were all there when he said goodbye to his beloved WWE.

WWE fans worldwide expected Undertaker to make an appearance at WrestleMania 37 earlier this year as it was the first event with a live crowd in over 13 months because of Covid 19 spread.

The wrestler fought his last match and even retired when no fans were present last year, so many of them expected that he might return to action to say final goodbye – but Mark William Calaway (Undertaker’s original name) was done for good – – and he knew it during WrestleMania 36.
