The Miz suffered an ACL injury after his WrestleMania Backlash match against Damian Priest

There was nothing ‘Awesome’ about The Miz’s night at WrestleMania Backlash. Ever since Priest landed on Miz’s knee early on in the fight, he kept selling his knee throughout the course of the match.

Miz ended up losing, and was “eaten alive by zombies” after a stockpile of zombie lumberjacks invaded the ring.

After the match, it was revealed that the Miz had suffered a tear to his ACL, according to Dave Meltzer (h/t Fightful). As of now, it hasn’t been confirmed if he had suffered a full tear or only a partial one.

The report adds that Priest fell on Miz’s knee and the A-Lister was selling this injury throughout the match.

With how many days he is going to be sidelined, also a question mark, even a partially torn ACL can take up to three months for a full recovery. Hence, “the Awesome One” will be out of action for a significant amount of time.

A night that ‘The Miz’ would want to forget ASAP!

John Morrison opens up on the Miz’s injury

The Miz was not a part of the Monday Night Raw which followed WrestleMania Backlash. His teammate John Morrison set out to seek revenge against Damian Priest, as he faced him in yet another lumberjack match against Priest.

This time the lumberjacks were only humans, and not zombies. One of the lumberjacks was the returning Nikki Cross.

Prior to the match, Morrison revealed that he was dedicating his lumberjack match against Priest in the ‘Miz’s memory’.

Morrison said:

@mikethemiz might never be the same. I’m dedicating tonight’s match to his memory.”

Unfortunately, Morrison ended up losing the fight as well. A ‘Hit the Lights’ finisher from Priest ended up doing the job for him, as he pinned Morrison to victory.
