Big E and Apollo Crews seem to have a huge rivalry on SmackDown but things have been brewing since 2013
The rivalry between Big E and Apollo Crews reached another level on this week’s SmackDown as the Intercontinental title was on the line.
E put up his title against his friend Crews but things turned hairy. The first match ended in a double pinfall and Crews even slapped E in all this.
The pair met up again as the match was restarted and E defended his title. However, the friendship seems to have disappeared as E continued hitting out at Crews.
He shared a screenshot of some old tweets of Crews. This was from 2013 when E was breaking out of NXT and heading to the main roster. Crews, for his part, still wasn’t part of WWE as he only signed in 2014.
E’s height was one of the jokes that Crews posted about, and it seems the new champion hasn’t forgotten any of it.
Banks gets into the act
E and Crews certainly put on a great show on SmackDown and they could battle again in the future. Sasha Banks also shared her reaction to this and claimed that she is loving this bit:
Banks has been in a rivalry with Carmella and it will be interesting to see what is next for her. However, E is certainly doing a great job as the champion. Crews has also been underutilised in WWE and this is his chance to show what he can do in a proper rivalry.
The pair are extremely talented and this rivalry could become one of the best in the business. WWE haven’t shared what is next for E yet, but there could be something big for him in the coming weeks.
